I heard some women take progesterone in early pregnancy specially if they had issues before. Im in my first trimester and just curious how it works and when its needed. Did your gynac put u on it? want to understand more.
My doctor put me on it early because of my history, but she decided that, not me. Pls dont take any hormone on your own based on what worked for someone else. Each case is different, let your gynac guide.
This is one you absolutely should not start or stop on your own. Progesterone is given by the doctor for specific reasons, in my case it was prescribed after some spotting. Please only take it exactly as your gynac tells you.
It is commonly prescribed in early pregnancy in certain situations, but the keyword is prescribed. Your doctor knows if you actually need it and how much. Definitely not a self-decision.
In my IVF journey I was on progesterone support and it was all closely guided by my fertility doctor, dose and timing everything. So yes it's used in pregnancy, but always under medical supervision, never by yourself. Talk to your doctor about why you need it.
