I usually add turmeric to many of my dishes and even drink haldi doodh for its benefits. Is it safe to continue consuming turmeric in moderation while I am pregnant, or should I be careful?
Having PCOS made me super cautious about everything I ate during my pregnancy journey. Regular turmeric in home-cooked food is generally fine, but definitely avoid high-dose supplements. It's always better to run it by your doctor before starting anything new.
Why spend on fancy herbal drinks and supplements when simple home-cooked food has enough haldi anyway? Gynac bills and delivery planning already take up so much budget, so I stuck to basic ghar ka khana. Just use a pinch in your regular food and you are good.
I practically lived on haldi doodh post-delivery for recovery, but during pregnancy, I was too scared of acidity to take extra! Now with a crying baby at 3 AM, I barely even get time to drink regular tea. Keep it simple and stick to normal kitchen food haldi.
I also had the same doubt because my MIL keeps telling me to drink haldi doodh at night for immunity. But I read somewhere that too much turmeric is not good? How much are u taking daily?
Personally, I just used normal haldi in my regular dal and sabzi and had no issues. I avoided those strong turmeric tea bags or supplements though, just to be safe. You can ask your gynac if you want to try medicinal doses.
