I may need to travel by train for 5 hours next month. I will be around 24 weeks and my pregnancy is normal so far, but I am still nervous. Has anyone travelled by train in second trimester?
I travelled by train a few times for work even at 6 months. Lower berth is a must so u dont climb, keep getting up to walk in the aisle, and dont skip meals or water. Avoid super long journeys close to ur due date. Otherwise totally doable.
Train is comfy and easy on the pocket compared to flights, and u can move around which is good. I planned my trip avoiding peak crowd timings. Just carry ur reports and medicines along, and dont travel right near ur due date. Quick okay from doctor and ur set.
It depends on ur pregnancy. For a smooth one, train is okay. But I had a high risk pregnancy and my doctor restricted long travel, so please ask ur gynac first based on ur stage and condition before booking. Better safe.
Train is actually one of the better options in pregnancy, you can get up, walk, stretch your legs, unlike a cramped flight or bumpy car. Just book a lower berth, carry water and snacks, and dont lift heavy luggage. Generally fine unless ur doctor said no travel for ur case.
