Can i use heat pad at low temperature during pregnancy?
My lower back is hurting and I usually feel relief with a heat pad. I am pregnant now so I am scared even if the temperature is low. Has anyone used it after asking their doctor?
A heat pad on low for back or muscle pain is generally okay if you keep it on the back, hips or legs and not directly on the belly, and dont leave it on too long. Thats what worked for me. Avoid anything that heats your whole body up like very hot baths though.
Low heat on the back for short time is usually fine, but I would avoid placing it on the tummy and definitely no high heat. Since everyone's pregnancy is different, just run it by your gynac once, especially if you have any risk. Better safe.
My doctor said localized low heat on the lower back or sore muscles is okay, the concern is raising the core body temperature, which is why hot tubs and saunas are a no. So a warm pad on low for 15 to 20 mins on your back is fine, just not on the abdomen and not too hot.
Haan na low heat pad back pe theek hai, mera bhi kaam aaya tha. Bas pet pe mat lagao aur zyada garam nahi. Thodi der ke liye seki lo, aaram milega ho na.
