Can i use saffron in first trimester during pregnancy?
My saas keeps telling me to take kesar milk for the baby's colour and all. But im only in first trimester and not sure if its ok this early. Anyone started kesar already?
You can have a tiny bit of saffron in milk, but please don't add sugar to that milk. Since I had gestational diabetes, I had to be very careful with sweet drinks. A strand of saffron in plain unsweetened milk is perfectly fine and healthy.
Saffron is very pure and positive, but in the first trimester, it is best to use it in very limited quantities, just a strand or two. Pray, keep a peaceful mind, and take care of your body. May God bless you with health and happiness.
I completely panicked when my MIL put a strand of kesar in my milk during the 8th week, because some people said it causes heat! But my doctor reassured me that 1-2 strands of saffron in milk is completely safe and normal. Just don't overdo the quantity, okay?
Since I had PCOS, I was extra careful about everything I consumed in my first trimester. Saffron can generate body heat if taken in large amounts, so I avoided it initially and only started with 1 strand in my second trimester. Better to be cautious and consult your doctor.
I have heard from elder ladies that we should avoid hot foods like excess saffron in the very early days. Since I am trying to conceive, I try to be very gentle with my diet. Maybe check with a doctor before starting it.
