My bedroom is upstairs so I climb a few times a day. MIL keeps telling me to avoid stairs now that im pregnant and its stressing me out. Is it really an issue in early weeks?
I was so paranoid in my first trimester that I avoided stairs completely! But my gynac said it's totally safe as long as you don't rush or carry heavy bags. Just take it one step at a time to ease your anxiety.
Unless your doctor has advised strict bed rest or you have spotting, stairs are perfectly safe. It's actually a good light exercise. Just wear flat footwear and hold the railing.
I used to panic every time I had to climb to my second-floor flat, but honestly, it is absolutely fine. Just don't run up and down. Walk slowly and take breaks if you feel tired.
If your pregnancy is normal, climbing stairs slowly is perfectly fine. After my C-section, I had to avoid them, but during early pregnancy, my doctor just told me to hold the railing and walk carefully.
