We have both at home but my MIL keeps saying indian one is better for normal delivery. Im 5 months and squatting is getting thoda uncomfortable na. Which one do you all use?
According to all my pregnancy tracker apps, western toilet is much safer as there is no risk of losing balance. As the belly grows, our center of gravity shifts, so Indian toilets can be a bit risky for slipping. Definitely stick to western if you have it at home!
Western is definitely more comfortable as your weight increases. Just make sure the seat is clean and dry to avoid any UTIs, and maybe use a small stool under your feet for better bowel movement naturally. But yes, if you ever feel any unusual pain or cramping while using it, check with your doctor immediately.
When I was staying at my parents place during my second trimester, my dad actually got a western toilet chair installed for me. My mom was so scared of me slipping on the wet bathroom floor. It is much more comfortable for the back and knees, especially in the last months.
Actually, western toilet is highly recommended during pregnancy, especially in the later months. My gynac explicitly told me that squatting on an Indian toilet can put extra pressure on the pelvic area and cervix as your weight increases. So yes, it is completely safe and actually better.
OMG even I panicked so much about this in my first trimester! I thought using western toilet might cause some infection or pressure, but honestly it is totally fine. It is actually a lifesaver when your belly grows and sitting down becomes a big task.
Honestly, western toilet is much easier on your joints and back. Just maintain basic hygiene, keep the seat clean, and don't strain too hard if you have constipation. It is absolutely safe and practically easier than Indian toilets.
