I'm in my early pregnancy and usually enjoy walking briskly. Is it safe to walk fast during early pregnancy, or should I slow down my pace? I want to stay active but also protect my baby.
With my twins, even standing up felt like a workout, let alone walking fast! Better to keep it gentle in the early days. No need to speed-run, the baby isn't going anywhere!
Mummy always told me to walk slowly and carefully during the first three months. Aap aaram se tehalne jao, speed badhane ki zarurat nahi hai abhi. Safe rehna hi sabse badhiya hai.
Unless you are running a marathon to escape your MIL's kadha, slow down a bit! Walking is great but early pregnancy needs a little care. Walk at a gossip-with-friends pace, not a train-running pace!
Generally, moderate walking is highly recommended by doctors as it keeps you active. However, in early pregnancy, it's always best to ask your gynac if you have any spotting or history of complications before starting fast walks.
I walked throughout my pregnancy and it really helped with my normal delivery! Just make sure you aren't panting or getting out of breath. Keep a normal comfortable pace and stay hydrated.
If your body is already used to brisk walking, it's perfectly fine. But don't start power-walking suddenly if you weren't active before. Listen to your body and don't push yourself to exhaustion.
