Im in my 9th week and acidity is killing me yaar. My mum keeps giving me hajmola after meals but now im scared if its safe for the baby in early pregnancy. Anyone had it during these weeks?
Haan, limited quantity mein toh fine hai bilkul. Par ek-do se zyada mat khana, na toh acidity aur badh jayegi. Mere ghar pe toh sab dadi nani mana karte the zyada chatpata khane se is time pe.
Oh god, Hajmola was my absolute savior during the first trimester! My mouth used to taste like metal all day and I would sneak them in. But honestly dont eat too many because of the high salt content, otherwise water retention will kick in early. I survived on just 1 or 2 max when the nausea was unbearable.
Honestly, it has too much sodium and preservatives, so I completely avoided it. I preferred going for a gentle 15-minute walk after meals to help with digestion, which my doctor allowed me to do. Walk is much better than popping these spicy tablets!
Look, one or two tablets once in a while is perfectly fine for taste or nausea. But dont make it a daily habit thinking it is a digestion medicine. Pregnancy digestion is slow, so drink lots of water and eat small meals instead of relying on Hajmola.
I totally feel you, 9th week is so tough with all that nausea and metallic taste. I also used to crave Hajmola so much just to feel normal. Just hold on, this phase will pass soon and you will feel much better in the second trimester.
I have heard from my married cousins that cravings for sour things like Hajmola start very early. But please be careful since it has strong spices and black salt. Maybe check with your doctor once before having it regularly.
Just eat healthy ghar ka khana and stay happy, that is most important right now. For taste, you can try some lemon water or ginger tea instead of processed tablets. God bless you, take care of your health in these precious weeks.
