Can implantation bleeding occur in ectopic pregnancy?

I had some light spotting and a positive test but im a little anxious because of some one sided cramping too. Im going to see my doctor for a scan soon. Just trying to understand if light bleeding can happen in ectopic also. Has anyone gone through this?

Please be careful with this. Bleeding with an ectopic can look similar early on, but ectopic is serious and needs urgent care. If you have spotting along with one sided sharp pain, shoulder tip pain or dizziness, go to the doctor immediately, dont wait. An early scan is so important.

My doctor explained you cant tell ectopic apart just from bleeding, both normal and ectopic can have light bleeding early. Thats exactly why an early scan and hCG monitoring is done, to confirm the pregnancy is in the right place. Please get checked early if theres any doubt.

I went through an ectopic and i know how scary this question feels. For me the warning sign was the sharp one sided pain more than the bleeding. I really urge you, if anything feels off please see your gynac and get a scan, dont sit on it. Take care of yourself.
