We are a seafood loving family and prawns are like a regular thing at home. Now that im pregnant my mom is telling me to avoid all seafood completely. Im in second trimester, is it really not allowed or can i have it sometimes?
Yes, well cooked prawns are fine and a good protein source, I had them in pregnancy. The key is fully cooked, fresh and never raw or half done. If you have any seafood allergy, then avoid and ask your gynac.
Actually I'm a Mumbai girl, prawns are life, and I ate them through pregnancy yaar. Just make sure they're properly cooked and fresh, no raw stuff. Buy from a clean reliable place na.
In our coastal family prawns are common and my elders said cooked well it's perfectly fine, even good for the baby. I enjoyed them in moderation. Just ensure freshness and full cooking, and check with your doctor if unsure.
Ohh I craved prawn curry so badly in my second trimester. Had it cooked nicely and it was such a treat. Just dont go for raw or undercooked ones, fully cooked only.
