Can iron pills taken during pregnancy darken my baby's complexion?
Someone in family said iron tablets can make baby dark and now I know it sounds odd but it stuck in my mind. My doctor gave iron because my hemoglobin is low. Did anyone else hear this myth?
I heard this exact thing from a relative and ignored it, took my iron both pregnancies. Both my kids are perfectly fine. Genes decide complexion, not tablets. Dont fall for these tales yaar.
Iron has nothing to do with skin colour, that is just an old belief. The pills are for your haemoglobin so you and baby stay healthy. Skipping them can actually cause real problems, so dont stop them for this reason.
