Can iron tablets cause abdominal pain in pregnancy?
Started my iron tablets this week and since then i feel a dull pain in lower pet area. Cant tell if its the tablet or something else. Anyone faced this? planning to ask my gynac also but wanted to hear ur experience.
Actually my tracker app also showed that iron side effects like constipation and abdominal discomfort are very common. Drinking lots of water and eating fiber helps. But if the pain is persistent, better to drop a message to your doctor.
I completely understand how scary any pain can feel when u are pregnant. Yes, iron tablets can cause bad gas, bloating, and constipation which hurts. But if the pain is sharp or severe, please call your gynac immediately to be safe.

My stomach used to feel so heavy and crampy after taking iron, especially with my morning sickness. Try taking it with some food or check with your doctor if u can switch to a syrup or another brand. Don't ignore it if it hurts too much though.
