My early scan showed yolk sac measuring 8mm and the doctor said she wants to recheck in 2 weeks. I read its on the larger side and now im sitting here so worried and googling everything. Did anyone have a slightly big yolk sac and still a healthy pregnancy?
My doctor explained that yolk sac size is just one marker and they look at it along with the heartbeat and growth on a follow up scan. A single number can be misleading without the full picture. Best to ask your gynac directly what your report means.
A yolk sac size on its own doesnt decide everything, I learned that the hard way. The doctors usually repeat the scan in a week or two to see how things progress. Please dont read too much into one measurement, let your gynac interpret it fully.
I know how scary it is to google scan numbers, I did the same and panicked. Please dont judge viability from one figure, your feelings are valid but the doctor sees the whole picture. Wait for the repeat scan and ask them clearly.
