We are starting IUI next month and my saas keeps asking if there is any way to plan for a boy through it. I dont really believe in all this but she reads stuff on quora and keeps bringing it up. Just curious what others have actually heard, is it even a thing?
Ghar pe mummy and papa also used to talk about how these things work, but medically it's not possible to select gender through IUI. We just prayed for a healthy baby and I spent my days relaxed at my parents' place. Enjoy this time with family, whatever god blesses you with will be perfect.
Actually, gender selection is completely illegal in India, and scientifically IUI does not have any control over whether it's a boy or girl. My doctor told me that it's a 50-50 chance just like natural conception. The process only washes and concentrates the sperm to increase chances of getting pregnant.
I had thyroid throughout my pregnancy and my doctor told me gender has nothing to do with IUI or any treatments. What's important is keeping your health parameters in check. Make sure you do your regular blood tests and follow-ups with your gynac.
Oh dear, I used to search all this on Google when my baby was in my tummy, but now that he is a naughty toddler, I laugh at myself. IUI is just a process to help you get pregnant, it has nothing to do with baby's gender. Just focus on a healthy pregnancy, that's what actually matters!
Amma used to say everything depends on fate, but honestly, medically IUI cannot choose the baby's gender. My doctor explained that IUI just helps the sperm meet the egg, it's all natural. Best to trust your gynac and let nature do its work peacefully.
