Can lactation possible at the age of 45 without pregnancy?
This is for my elder sister actually, she is 45 and not pregnant but noticed some discharge from breast. We are both a bit confused and worried about it. Is this something that can happen normally? she is going to see a doctor soon.
Yes it is possible due to hormonal changes or medication effects, its not always linked to pregnancy. But because there can be an underlying reason, the right step is a doctor visit so they can check hormone levels and rule things out.
It can happen sometimes due to hormones, certain medicines or other reasons, even without pregnancy. But at any age, milk coming without pregnancy is something that should be checked by a doctor, not ignored. Please get it looked at to find the cause.
I'd really suggest seeing a doctor for this rather than guessing. Unexpected milk discharge without pregnancy can have a few different causes and they will likely do some tests. Better to get it evaluated soon.
Dont panic about it, but dont ignore it either. Milk without pregnancy has reasons that a doctor can find with a simple checkup. Book an appointment and let them guide you properly.
