My doctor has suggested laparoscopy for me and im a bit nervous about going under. We have been trying to conceive for almost 2 years now. Did it actually help any of you get pregnant after?
In some cases yes, it depends on the reason. For me they did a laparoscopy to treat endometriosis and it did help our chances later. But it's very individual, your fertility doctor is the one who can tell you if it'll help in your case. Sending you good wishes.
It can help when there's a clear issue to correct, dont lose hope. Sit with your doctor, understand why they're suggesting it and what they expect to find. Take it one step at a time.
I dont want to over promise because it really depends on what they find and treat, like blocked tubes or cysts. For some women it improves things, for others not so much. Definitely discuss your specific reports with your doctor.
From what my gynac explained, laparoscopy can help if there's something specific to fix, like adhesions, endometriosis or tubal issues, by clearing those it can improve fertility. But it's not a guaranteed boost for everyone, so your doctor will judge based on your case.
