My mom keeps telling me to have lauki juice for health but ive heard mixed things about it. Im 4 months along now. Is it actually safe to drink during pregnancy?
i once drank a bit of raw lauki juice and panicked thinking it would harm the baby! my doctor reassured me but advised to stick to cooked lauki instead to avoid infections.
i had cooked lauki regularly but avoided raw juice because it can sometimes be bitter and toxic. please be very careful and check the taste before consuming.
i personally avoided raw lauki juice completely because i read it can cause stomach issues. i preferred eating well-cooked bottle gourd sabzi instead, which was much lighter on my stomach.
my hospital nutritionist strictly told me to avoid raw vegetable juices because of contamination risks. if you want lauki, eat it cooked as sabzi or soup, but do clarify with your doctor first.
raw lauki juice can carry bacteria and if it is bitter, it can cause severe toxicity. it is much safer to consume it cooked in curries or soups during pregnancy.
during my pregnancy, i checked everything with my doctor because of my thyroid issues. please ask your doctor before drinking any raw vegetable juices to be absolutely safe.
