I took the emergency pill last month and now im a little anxious after reading some stuff online. Just want to understand if it raises the chance of ectopic. Has anyone here gone through this or asked their gynac about it?
From what my gynac explained, the morning after pill doesnt cause ectopic but if you do conceive despite taking it, there's a slightly higher chance the pregnancy could be ectopic. So it's not that it causes it, it just doesnt fully prevent it. Best to confirm with a scan if you suspect pregnancy.
I dont want to give wrong info because this is medical. What I'd say is if you took it and now feel pregnancy symptoms with any pain, dont wait at home, get checked. Better safe than sorry with these things honestly.
Take a breath. The pill itself isnt going to cause an ectopic, but the only way to be sure everything is fine is a doctor visit and a scan. Dont sit at home worrying, just go get it confirmed okay.
I'd really not guess on this one. I had an ectopic and it was scary, so if you've taken that pill and now have a positive test with one sided pain or spotting, pls see a doctor fast. They can scan and confirm where the pregnancy is, that's the only safe way to know.
This is genuinely a doctor question, not something to rely on community for. The general info is it can fail and any pregnancy after a failed pill should be checked properly. Please book a gynac appointment and get a beta hCG and ultrasound.
