I had a slight lordosis curve in my lower back even before getting pregnant and now with the bump my back is hurting more. Im a little worried whether this can cause problems during pregnancy or delivery. Anyone here with the same back issue?
Try not to worry too much, the back curve naturally deepens for everyone in pregnancy. Good posture, a supportive pillow and not standing too long help. Just keep your doctor in the loop about your back history.
Some curve in the lower back actually increases naturally in pregnancy as the belly grows and your posture shifts, that's normal. If you already had lordosis it can mean more back ache, but it usually doesnt harm the pregnancy itself. Manage it with good posture and support.
If you have a diagnosed spine condition I'd really suggest telling your gynac and maybe seeing a physio. Pregnancy adds strain on the lower back and everyone's case is different. Better to get a personalised opinion than to guess online.
Pregnancy already exaggerates the lower back curve so back pain can get worse. With my doctor's okay I did gentle prenatal stretches and pelvic tilts and it helped my back so much. Definitely get exercises cleared by your doctor first though.
