Yes many women with lupus do have healthy babies, but it really needs planning. The big thing is the disease should be well controlled before trying, and you need a doctor watching both your lupus and the pregnancy. Please plan this with your rheumatologist and gynac together, dont go solo.
Dont lose hope at all. Lots of women with autoimmune conditions become moms, it just needs the right team and timing. Sit with your rheumatologist and a gynac who handles high risk pregnancies and they'll guide you properly.
I know how heavy these worries feel when your body has a condition. Please know it is often very possible with the right care, I've seen women do beautifully with close monitoring. Lean on your specialists for the plan, and be gentle with yourself through it.
I dont have lupus but I have a condition that needed careful planning, so I get the worry. From what my doctor always stressed, these things are very doable when managed and timed right with specialists. I really wouldnt take general advice, your own doctors know your case best.
A friend with lupus conceived after her doctors said her condition was stable for some months. They reviewed her medicines beforehand because some need changing before pregnancy. So yes its possible, but with proper pre pregnancy counselling. Please speak to your specialist about the right time.
