Can menses come during pregnancy?

I tested positive last week but today i noticed some light spotting and it confused me a lot. Is it possible to actually get periods while pregnant or is this something else? bit worried tbh.

Spotting maybe, but a real period no. Always tell the doc.

Real periods cannot happen once you're pregnant because the lining isn't shedding. But some women get light spotting which they confuse with periods. My doctor said any actual bleeding should always be reported to the gynac.

I had bleeding early on and assumed it was a period, but it turned out to need monitoring. Please don't dismiss bleeding as menses during pregnancy. Get it checked by your doctor without delay.

I had a little spotting around week 6 and got so scared thinking my period came. Doctor said it was implantation spotting and it was fine. Did anyone else mistake spotting for periods too?
