I love methi paratha and methi sabzi but my MIL stopped me saying its garam for pregnancy. Im in second trimester. Is this true or can i still have it sometimes? Missing it honestly.
Yes you can eat methi sabzi, I had it through both pregnancies, no issue. Just normal home cooked portions, dont go eating huge quantities of the seeds. As a regular vegetable its perfectly fine.
Methi leaves as a cooked vegetable are nutritious and safe in usual food amounts. The caution is usually about large doses of methi seeds, not the everyday sabzi. If you ever plan to take it as a supplement, then ask your doctor, but in food its fine.
My saasu maa cooked methi at home all the time during my pregnancy, said it's good in food. Just the leafy sabzi in regular quantity is okay. She did say go easy on heavy methi seed stuff, so I just stuck to normal cooking.
Methi leaves in normal cooked food are fine, we made methi dal and sabzi often. It's the concentrated methi seeds in large amounts people say to be careful with, not the regular leafy sabzi. Cooked methi as a vegetable is totally okay.
