Can momther's.immunity.protect.baby during pregnancy?
Was reading somewhere that whatever immunity the mom has passes to the baby also. Is that actually true na? Just curious how much my body does for the little one.
To an extent yes, the baby borrows some immunity from u, but its temporary and fades after a few months which is why baby gets their own vaccines later. Best to just ask ur doctor what shots u need during pregnancy, she will guide properly.
Yes dear it does, nature has set it up so the baby gets some of mums defenses. Just eat well, rest and take whatever the doctor advises for vaccines. Ur body is already taking care of the little one.
Yes my gynac explained this nicely, the antibodies pass through the placenta and give the baby some protection, specially in the last few weeks. Thats actually why they push the tetanus and flu shots during pregnancy. After birth breastfeeding also adds to it she said.
I remember feeling so relieved when my doctor told me whatever vaccines I take, the baby gets some of that protection. I felt like I was already doing something for her even before she came. Such a sweet thing na.
It continues even after the baby is born honestly. The protection u give in the womb plus feeding after gives baby that early shield. I really felt good knowing my milk was adding to it.
