Im in my 9th week and instead of gaining i think i lost a kg or two. The vomiting is bad and i hardly eat anything. Is it normal for the mother's weight to go down like this or should i be worried?
A little early loss can happen, but ongoing or sharp weight loss should be checked. Please dont diet on purpose in pregnancy. Let your doctor guide the right weight gain for you.
I panicked when the scale went down in early weeks, thought something was wrong. Doctor said it was the nausea and totally normal. It evened out, so dont stress immediately.
When my diet got controlled for sugar, my weight dipped a bit early on and that was fine per my doctor. Small drops can be normal but it should be tracked. Always let your gynac monitor your weight curve.
Yes, with bad morning sickness I actually lost a little in the first trimester from all the vomiting. My gynac wasnt worried as long as I stayed hydrated and it picked up later. If you cant keep anything down at all, please tell your doctor.
