Can mothers bacterial sinus infection affect pregnancy?
Im 3 months along and caught a bad sinus infection, my nose is fully blocked and head paining. Im worried whether this can reach the baby in any way. Planning to see my gynac but wanted to hear if anyone went through this.
My doc said a treated sinus infection usually does not harm the baby, the key is treating it safely and not letting a fever run high. She prescribed a pregnancy safe medicine for me. So get it checked rather than waiting it out, especially if there is fever.
Anything like an infection, I always ran it by my gynac since I was already doing regular follow ups for thyroid. They will treat it with something safe. Dont self medicate, just book a visit and it gets sorted.
Most common infections are managed fine but a bacterial one needs proper treatment, so please see a doctor. Dont take random antibiotics on your own during pregnancy. Your gynac will give you something safe to clear it up.
