I was taking nb uvb light therapy for my skin before, and now im 8 weeks pregnant. Not sure if i should continue or stop. Planning to ask my doc but wanted to hear if anyone else faced this.
I had psoriasis during my pregnancy and my doctor actually let me continue my narrowband UVB sessions [1.1.1]. He just made me take extra folic acid because the light can lower those levels. It's best to ask your own skin doctor about what's right for you.
Yes, please talk to your doctor about this. Many moms do continue it safely, but only your gynac can give the final green light. Take care of your health.
I am newly married and we are trying for a baby soon, so I understand your worries about treatments. It is always better to double check with your doctor before continuing any light therapy. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
I am planning to conceive soon and also have severe eczema, so I was researching this exact same thing! My dermatologist said NB-UVB is much safer than taking oral medicines during pregnancy. Definitely check with both your gynac and skin doctor to coordinate.
Managing twins was hard enough, but skin rashes on top would have driven me crazy! From what I know, NB-UVB is usually safe, but check with your gynac first. Also, wear a face shield because those lights can give you some wild melasma patches!
I totally understand how stressful it is to manage skin conditions while carrying your precious little one. Some of my friends were told that NB-UVB is actually considered quite safe in pregnancy, but you must consult your dermatologist first. Sending you so much love, please don't stress.
