Can nitrufurantoin used in first trimester of pregnancy?
I've been prescribed a medicine called Nitrufurantoin for an infection, but I'm in my first trimester. I'm a bit concerned about taking any medication so early on. Has anyone taken this during their first trimester, or know if it's safe?
I always checked with my doctor before taking any medication, just like I did for my walking routine. First trimester is very delicate, so please don't self-medicate. Send a quick whatsapp message to your gynac and they will tell you exactly what to do.
Beta, please do not start any medication like this on your own during your first trimester. Some medicines are safe only in specific trimesters, and your doctor knows best. Just give your gynac a call and they will guide you safely, don't worry.
Honestly, I wouldn't even take a cough drop without asking my doctor during pregnancy, let alone an antibiotic! Save yourself the Google stress and just call your gynac. They get paid to answer these questions anyway!
I would literally panic before taking even a paracetamol during pregnancy! Please don't take any chances with medications like nitrofurantoin in the first trimester. Call your gynecologist immediately to ask if it's safe for you, please don't take it on your own.
Oh sweetie, UTI or infections are so painful during pregnancy, I feel you. But please call your doctor before taking this medicine. I remember being terrified of taking any pills during my first trimester, so definitely let your gynac decide what's safe for your baby.
Since first trimester is a very sensitive phase, please do not take any antibiotics without your gynac's direct prescription. My doctor told me that some medications are safe and some are not, especially in early pregnancy. It's always best to be extra cautious and consult your doctor first.
Pregnancy brain has me forgetting my own name, but I definitely know we shouldn't take antibiotics without asking the doctor first! Give your gynac's clinic a call. Let them handle the prescription while you get some rest.
