I am 29 weeks and sleep has become such a struggle. I turn left, right, use pillow, still wake up again and again. Is sleeplessness this common in pregnancy?
Very common ma, the body changes and the mind is busy. A calm routine, light dinner and left side sleeping is what worked for me. If it really troubles you a lot, tell your doctor, dont take any sleep tablet on your own.
Oh I used to lie there and overthink everything, baby, delivery, everything. The not sleeping made the worry worse and the worry made the sleep worse, full circle. Talking to my doc about it actually calmed me, pls dont suffer quietly.
I felt so frustrated those nights, lying awake while everyone slept. What helped me was a warm glass of milk and putting my phone away early. Some nights were still bad but knowing it was normal made me less anxious.
Pregnancy insomnia is so real. I started taking short naps in the day when I could since nights were a mess. Try a fixed wind down time and no screen before bed, it actually made a small difference for me.
My MIL told me to massage my feet with warm oil before bed and honestly it relaxed me a lot. Pillows all around also helped support the belly. If you are not sleeping for days together though, do mention it to your gynac.
Sleep? In third trimester? She doesnt live here anymore lol. Between peeing 5 times and not finding a comfy position I barely slept. A pillow between my legs and sleeping on left side helped a little, give it a try.
