I had a UTI before knowing i was pregnant and someone at home had this medicine. I havent taken it, i want to ask my gynac first, but just wanted to know if its something people are usually told to avoid in pregnancy.
Generally this isnt a first choice during pregnancy, doctors prefer other options. I wont tell you to take or skip it, that depends on your case. Just please get a proper prescription from your gynac, dont buy it over the counter.
Dont guess with antibiotics in pregnancy. This one is usually avoided, there are safer choices doctors use. Call your gynac, tell them your symptoms, let them decide. Never take leftover medicines from before.
Please dont take this on your own. Ofloxacin is from a group that doctors usually avoid in pregnancy unless theres no other safe option. Whatever infection you have, let your gynac pick the right antibiotic for you, dont self medicate.
When I had a UTI in pregnancy I asked about this exact thing. My doctor said this group of antibiotics is generally not preferred in pregnancy and she gave me a different pregnancy safe one instead. So really only take what your treating doctor prescribes for you specifically.
