Can omez be taken during pregnancy?

I've been suffering from severe acidity lately, which is making my pregnancy quite uncomfortable. My doctor had prescribed Omez before for acidity issues. I wanted to know if Omez is generally considered safe to take during pregnancy. Should I consult my doctor again before taking it?
