My baby is 6 months and im still nursing fully, periods havent returned yet. People say u cant get pregnant while breastfeeding but im not fully convinced honestly. Is it actually safe to rely on this or no?
Yes you absolutely can. Breastfeeding delays periods for some women but it's not reliable birth control. My second came when my first was still nursing, ovulation can happen before your period even returns. Use protection if you're not ready.
Don't count on breastfeeding to prevent it, plenty of close-age siblings happen this way, mine included. If pregnancy isnt in the plan right now, just sort out contraception with your doctor, she'll suggest what's safe while feeding.
Many people think nursing fully protects you but it really doesnt, especially once feeds reduce or baby starts solids. I'd say dont rely on it. If you want to space out babies, talk to your gynac about a safe option while breastfeeding.
Haan yaar you can totally conceive. Actually that breastfeeding wala protection only works if baby is exclusively feeding and your period hasnt returned, and even then it's not 100 percent. Better to use proper contraception if you're avoiding.
