Heard from a relative that pineapple is not good in pregnancy, can cause problem. I love it though and im only 3 months. Is this just a myth ya actually true?
I had pineapple slices in my salads throughout my pregnancy and had a completely normal, healthy delivery. The myth about it causing miscarriage is only true if you eat massive, unrealistic amounts of unripe pineapple.
Honestly, my pregnancy cravings are wild, and a few slices of cold pineapple are heaven! Just don't go eating the whole fruit at once, and u are good to go.
While pineapple is fine in moderation, always check with your gynac during your routine thyroid and blood check-ups. Maintaining overall health is key, so moderate portions of any fruit are best.
I completely freaked out when I accidentally ate a slice of pineapple in my first trimester! But my doctor told me that eating a small bowl of ripe pineapple once in a while is absolutely fine and won't cause any harm.
I have heard from elders that we should avoid it when trying to conceive or during early pregnancy. Maybe just to be safe, we can avoid it for a while or ask a doctor once.
