Can ovulation happen after pregnancy?

I delivered recently and my doctor warned me ovulation can return early, especially if not exclusively nursing. It surprised me how soon things normalise. So dont assume you are safe just because periods havent come, ask the gynac.

Yes, ovulation comes back after delivery, sometimes even before your first period returns. That is why people get pregnant again sooner than they expect. If you are not planning another baby soon, talk to your gynac about contraception, even while breastfeeding.
