I had some ovulation strips left over so i used one randomly and it showed two lines. Now im confused, i havent done a proper pregnancy test yet. Can an ovulation test actually pick up pregnancy or am i reading too much into it? anyone tried this?
I read about this on a tracker forum, the LH in ovulation tests can cross react but its not reliable at all for pregnancy. Just use an actual pregnancy test kit, they are cheap and accurate. Dont confuse the two.
Sometimes it can show a faint line but its not meant for confirming pregnancy. Use a pregnancy kit instead, that is the right tool. Dont take the ovulation result as a yes or no for pregnancy.
Technically an ovulation kit can sometimes show a line in pregnancy because the hormones are similar, but it is not made to detect pregnancy. My doctor said never rely on an ovulation test for this, always use a proper pregnancy kit. They measure different things.
