Can papaya and pibeapple be taken during pregnancy?
My MIL keeps telling me to avoid papaya and pineapple completely but my friend ate both and was fine. Im 2nd trimester now, getting cravings for fruit. Is this just a myth or actually something to worry about?
When I was pregnant and going to a good hospital, the doctors there were very clear: avoid raw papaya and pineapple. It’s always best to ask your specific gynac, but generally, these are on the 'no' list because they can induce contractions.
Beti, focus on eating nourishing, blessed food during this time. Generally, papaya and pineapple are considered 'hot' in many beliefs and are often advised to be avoided. Just stay positive, eat healthy, and let God guide you. Take care of yourself.
My mom was so careful with my diet when I stayed with her. She said better to be safe than sorry, so we completely avoided raw papaya and pineapple. Ripe ones are sometimes okay in moderation, but honestly, it's safer to skip them fully during pregnancy.
Generally, it's common knowledge that raw papaya and pineapple are not advised in pregnancy, because of enzymes that might cause issues. For mild things, home tips are fine, but when it comes to such important food safety, I'd still say check with your doctor once for proper guidance.
Humare ghar pe toh sab bolte hain ki raw papaya and pineapple bilkul nahi khana pregnancy mein. Meri saas ne toh mujhe ek bhi din nahi khane diya tha. Best hai jo elders bolte hain, sun lo.
Oh, this was my biggest question too! My doctor strictly told me to avoid raw papaya and pineapple completely, especially in the first trimester. Ripe ones maybe a tiny bit later on, but I just avoided them throughout. No point taking any risk, right?
