Can pcod causes miscarriage at 4th mo th of pregnancy?
I have pcod since years and now im 4 months along, this thought keeps coming in my head and giving me tension. Did pcod cause issues for anyone in second trimester? want to mentally prepare and ask doc also.
As someone with PCOD trying to plan a pregnancy, this is my biggest fear too and I keep reading about it. I read that managing insulin resistance and regular progesterone support from the doctor helps a lot. It must be so tough, please take care and do keep in touch with your gynac.
Actually, PCOD increases the risk of early miscarriage (first trimester) due to progesterone issues, but at 4 months (second trimester), other factors like cervical length or genetic anomalies are more commonly evaluated. Please consult your obstetrician for a detailed evaluation of your clinical reports.
I've seen many women with severe PCOS go on to have perfectly healthy babies. If there's a risk of miscarriage at 4 months, it is highly critical to get your cervical length scanned and check your hormone levels. Get a second opinion from a high-risk pregnancy specialist right away.
Please don't blame yourself or stress too much. While PCOD can sometimes cause hormonal imbalances, miscarriages in the second trimester are usually due to other medical reasons. It is best to have an open conversation with your gynac to understand your situation.
Listen, PCOD does create complications, but blaming it for everything at 4 months is not correct. Second trimester losses can happen due to cervical issues or other factors too. Stop googling and go talk to a good doctor to get a proper checkup and plan for your next steps.
I have PCOD too, and honestly, the anxiety of miscarriage kept me awake more than my baby's kicks! While PCOD does affect hormones, a 4th-month issue is usually something your doctor needs to investigate properly. Try to rest and let the doctors do their job.
