Can preganews give wrong negative in 5th week pregnancy?
My period is more than 2 weeks late but preganews showed only one line. Im so confused because i feel pregnant, nausea and sore breasts and all. Has anyone got a false negative this late?
I got a confusing negative once even when I was sure, and it turned out the timing and dilute urine messed it up. I retested in the morning and it was positive. So yes it can be wrong, dont panic, just retest properly or do a blood test.
My gynac said by the 5th week hCG is usually high enough to show, but a wrong negative can still happen with diluted urine or a faulty test. She suggested retesting with first morning urine, or better, a beta hCG blood test. That clears up any doubt.
It can happen if the urine was too dilute or the test wasnt done right. By 5 weeks it should normally show, so retest with morning urine. If it is still unclear, just do a blood test to settle it.
