I have a routine blood test coming up for something else, and was just wondering if it would show pregnancy also or do they need a separate test? Period is 5 days late so my mind is going everywhere yaar. Anyone know?
Please check with your doctor for a specific beta hCG blood test. Normal routine blood tests don't track the pregnancy hormone levels, and knowing the exact beta hCG count can be so reassuring, especially if you want to be extra careful in the early weeks. Wishing you all the best, dear.
For testing, home urine kits are easiest first, but for blood tests, standard ones won't catch it. You need a specific beta hCG blood test prescribed by your gynac. If you ever feel heavy cramping or anything, please don't wait for blood reports, directly call your doc.
Actually regular routine blood tests don't check for pregnancy. You need a specific beta hCG blood test, which I had to get done because my cycles were so irregular with PCOS. Better not to assume anything early on and ask your doctor.
No re, normal blood test won't show it unless you explicitly ask for beta hCG. Simple blood sugar or CBC reports can't detect pregnancy hormones. Go to the lab and tell them you want a pregnancy blood test.
In my experience, standard routine blood tests done for diabetes or normal checks don't search for pregnancy. You need the beta hCG test done specifically. I had to monitor my sugar and do blood tests all the time, but the pregnancy confirmatory test is totally different.
My husband always says that routine blood tests like CBC or LFT don't look for the hCG hormone. You have to ask the doctor to write a beta hCG test specifically. It's super accurate, way better than urine kits sometimes.
