Im already 40 weeks done and still no signs of labour, doc said wait few more days. Just curious how long can it actually go on safely? thoda anxious now.
Oh I was wondering this too! I'm 39 weeks and nothing yet, getting anxious. Good to know being a little late can be normal. Did anyone go really overdue?
If you mean letting it continue beyond due date, that should only be with doctor monitoring. In my case they didnt let me go too far because of the placenta. Dont try to delay on your own, follow what gynac says.
My doc explained that going past your due date a bit is common, full term is anywhere around 37-42 weeks. But once you cross 40-41 weeks they monitor closely and may induce, because too long isnt safe for baby. So it can go longer but not endlessly.
My first came 5 days after due date, second came 10 days late. Due date is just an estimate yaar, not exact. Your doctor will keep checking baby's movements and fluid and decide if waiting is okay.
