Been having this sharp pain near my chest and ribs for the past week, im 7 months now. Read somewhere it could be costochondritis and im wondering if pregnancy brings this on. Planning to tell my gynac at next visit but wanted to hear if anyone went through it.
My ribs have been protesting all third trimester, the baby seems to think they are a footrest. My doctor said the rib expansion causes that soreness. But yeah, any real chest pain, get it checked, dont brush it off.
I had rib and chest wall pain in pregnancy and my doctor said the growing belly and hormonal changes can cause that kind of inflammation. She confirmed it wasnt anything to do with the heart. But she did check me first to rule things out, which I would suggest you do too.
Chest pain in pregnancy is something I would never self diagnose. It can be the harmless rib type or sometimes something that needs checking. Please get your gynac or doctor to examine you rather than assuming.
