Im 7 months and getting this weird pain on the outer side of my foot, doc called it something like cuboid. Wondering if its related to the pregnancy weight or just coincidence. Anyone had foot issues like this?
I had terrible foot and heel pain in my third trimester, and my physiotherapist told me it was because my arches had flattened slightly. Resting, wearing extremely supportive footwear, and keeping my feet elevated helped me the most. Give your feet some extra love and rest, it gets better after birth.
Medically, the hormone relaxin makes your ligaments very loose, which combined with your changing center of gravity can put weird pressure on the foot bones. If it's indeed cuboid syndrome, sometimes a simple physical manipulation by a specialist can realign it. Go see a physiotherapist, they'll fix it easily.
Feet pain during pregnancy is so real! 👣 With all that extra baby weight and loose joints, our poor feet definitely take a beating. Try resting them and maybe get a nice foot massage! 😉
Oh, I had never even heard of cuboid syndrome! Is it really a common foot issue during pregnancy? I already have mild foot pain sometimes, so I'm trying to learn about all these hidden symptoms beforehand.
At 35 weeks, my feet feel like flat hot air balloons, so I wouldn't be surprised if my bones are shifting out of place too! Everything hurts at this point. If your foot pain is really sharp on the side, please get it checked so you can at least walk comfortably.
While pregnancy hormones like relaxin do loosen the ligaments and can cause foot alignment issues, cuboid syndrome is quite specific. If you are experiencing sharp outer foot pain, it is best to consult an orthopedic doctor or a podiatrist. They can guide you correctly rather than trying self-diagnosis.
