Got my routine bloods done in second tri and ferritin came back higher than normal range. My reports were always fine before so its bugging me thoda. Planning to ask my gynac but wanted to know if anyone else had this during pregnancy.
Honestly I dont know enough abt high ferritin to advise, mine was always on the low side. I would just say dont self interpret the report, let the doctor explain it properly.
Ferritin can change in pregnancy but high levels are not something to guess about. Please show that report to your gynac, sometimes it points to inflammation or other things they want to check.
When I asked my doc about my iron reports she said ferritin can be affected by many things, not only iron stores, infection or inflammation also raise it. She said the value alone doesnt mean much without the full picture. Best to ask yours about your specific number.
