Got my routine blood test in second trimester and my WBC count came back higher than normal. Im 18 weeks. The report scared me a little but i feel fine otherwise. Is this something that happens normally in pregnancy?
Yes actually, a mildly higher WBC is quite normal in pregnancy, the body just runs a bit differently. So a slightly raised count alone often isnt alarming. But if it is very high or you have fever and other symptoms, your doctor should review it.
I had a slightly elevated WBC in my reports and my gynac said it can be a normal pregnancy change. She wasnt worried as the rest was fine. Honestly the best move is to let your doctor read the full report in context, not just one value.
