My fingers feel numb sometimes, especially after sleeping, and it scares me. I am in third trimester and swelling is also there. Did anyone get tingling or numb hands in pregnancy?
Mild tingling in hands or feet is normal from swelling and posture. But if numbness is sudden, on one side, or comes with bad headache or vision changes, please call ur gynac right away, dont wait. Better safe.
Yes its quite common, especially in hands due to swelling pressing on nerves, called carpal tunnel. My fingers used to go numb at night. It usually settles after delivery. But sudden one sided numbness should be told to doctor.
I freaked out when my arm went numb sleeping on it, but doc said its mostly position and swelling. Try changing how u sleep and a wrist rest helped me. Still, do tell ur doctor so they can keep an eye.
I had numbness in my fingers and it turned out partly thyroid related. So yes pregnancy can cause it but get your thyroid and sugar checked too at routine visits, just to rule things out.
