I had a small thyroid nodule before conceiving and now in my 2nd trimester it feels slightly bigger to me. Got a bit worried because of all the hormone changes happening. Planning to show my doc but wanted to know if anyone else noticed this during pregnancy.
I had thyroid through my pregnancy and my doctor said hormonal changes can sometimes affect the thyroid. She kept checking my levels every few weeks. If you have nodules please get them monitored by your endocrinologist along with gynac, dont leave it.
My doctor explained that pregnancy changes thyroid hormone demand and sometimes nodules can change in size. She wanted regular ultrasounds and TSH checks. So it's worth flagging to your specialist so they can keep an eye on it.
I can only share that thyroid stuff is best handled by your own doctor. I wouldn't want to guess on something like nodules. Please ask the endocrinologist treating you.
Don't panic over this, but do get it checked properly during pregnancy. Thyroid needs regular monitoring anyway when you're expecting, so just add this to the list to discuss with your doctor.
I'm not a doctor so I won't claim to know exactly, but anything with the thyroid during pregnancy needs proper follow up in my experience. Please get it looked at properly rather than relying on general answers like mine.
