Im 16 weeks and lately i feel a burning when i pee and keep running to the loo. Never had this issue before pregnancy. Want to ask my doc but first wondering if pregnancy itself makes uti more common?
My gynac told me pregnant women are more prone to UTIs because of the changes in the urinary tract. She said drink plenty water, dont hold pee, and get checked at the first sign of burning or frequent urge. They treat it with pregnancy safe meds.
It is more common, dont worry though, its very treatable. Just dont try to manage a UTI on your own during pregnancy, get the urine tested and let your doctor give the safe medicine.
Haan its common in pregnancy. Stay hydrated and pee whenever u feel like, dont hold it. But if u get burning, fever or back pain, straight to the doctor for a urine culture, this needs proper treatment not home remedies.
Yes pregnancy does make UTIs more likely, the hormones and pressure on the bladder play a role. I had one and my doctor treated it properly because untreated UTI in pregnancy isnt good. If u feel burning please get a urine test done, dont ignore it.
