Ive been feeling that burning and frequent urge to pee, exactly like a uti, but im also newly pregnant. Confused whether its actually an infection or just a pregnancy thing. Planning to tell my gynac but wanted to hear if others felt this too.
My doctor said pregnancy hormones and pressure on the bladder cause frequent urination, but burning and fever mean an actual infection. UTIs in pregnancy do need proper antibiotics that the doctor chooses. So she advised a urine culture whenever I had symptoms.
Yes, pregnancy increases the urge to pee and also makes UTIs more likely, so symptoms overlap. But if you actually have burning or pain while peeing, that points to a real UTI which needs treatment. Please get a urine test done, dont ignore it.
I had a UTI in pregnancy and ignored it first, that was a mistake as it can affect the pregnancy. Please dont self treat, see your gynac if there is burning, urgency or fever. They will test and give something safe.
