This is a bit embarrassing to ask but the other night i felt really dizzy and almost fainted while being intimate with my husband. Im in 2nd trimester and it scared us both. Has anyone felt faint like this, is it normal?
Feeling faint can happen in pregnancy because of blood pressure changes and lying flat, especially later when the bump presses on a big vein. But actually passing out is not something to brush off, please tell your gynac so they can check your BP and iron.
My doctor explained that lying on your back later in pregnancy can drop blood pressure and cause dizziness, so she suggested lying more on the side. If you fully passed out though, thats worth getting checked properly, dont ignore that.
Light dizziness can happen due to all the blood flow and hormone changes beta. But fainting fully is a bit much, please get your blood pressure and haemoglobin checked. Better to be safe and let the doctor reassure you.
Some light headedness is common, often from position and BP shifts. But if you actually lost consciousness, thats a flag worth raising with your gynac. They can rule out low BP, anaemia and just put your mind at ease.
