My home test showed positive but I've been reading about ectopic and got a little scared. Does the kit show normal positive even if its ectopic? booking my gynac appointment but wanted to understand this first.
From what my doctor explained, a home kit only detects the pregnancy hormone hcg, it cannot tell where the pregnancy is. So a kit may show positive even in an ectopic case. Only an ultrasound and your gynac can confirm location. Thats really important to know.
I understand the worry behind this question. During my journey i learnt the kit just confirms hcg, not whether its ectopic. An early scan with the doctor is what tells you everything. Sending you calm thoughts, please get checked properly.
Please dont rely on a kit for this. I had a scare and the kit was positive but the ultrasound showed the real picture. If you have one sided pain, bleeding or dizziness with a positive test, go to the doctor straight away, ectopic is serious.
No it cant, the kit only says pregnant or not based on hormone. It has no way to detect ectopic. For that you need a scan and blood tests done by the gynac. If you suspect anything off, dont delay seeing them.
No dear, a kit cannot detect that. It only confirms you are pregnant. If you have any worrying symptoms like sharp pain on one side, please go to the doctor without waiting, they will scan and check properly. Take care of yourself.
